LAQUANT (ZIM)
PROJECT PARTNER:
- AIXEMTEC GMBH | Herzogenrath, Germany
- QUBIG GMBH | Munich, Germany
QUBIG is participating in a joint project supported by the Central Innovation Programme for small and medium-sized enterprises (ZIM). The aim of the project LAQUANT is to research and develop one of the first 2nd generation quantum photonic modules, which can be used modularly in a wide range of applications. The background is the need for highly stable laser sources with regard to the emission frequency. Quantum photonic applications (be it in the field of imaging, detection of substances, excitation of fluorophores, cooling of atoms, gravimetry, quantum computing, etc.). The core expertise of QUBIG is highly innovative chip-based electro-optical modulators (EOM). Together with the company Aixemtec, whose core competence is high-precision and automated alignment and assembly of optical, opto-electronic and electronic components, a novel ultra-compact module is to be researched and developed, which can stabilize the frequency of arbitrary LASERS.
